18 years old Anna is having trouble with her sleep recently. She remains to wake up till 1 am, 3 am, 4:30 am, and even the whole night. She cries, scattered thoughts come into her mind. Daytime is quite gloomy to her. No taste in foods even in her favorite ones, no place where she may have peace, chest full of breath, no enjoyment in life, no friends to talk with. Sometimes she is out all of her feelings!

Have you ever got any similarities with the feelings of Anna?

Yeah, if its’ something more you are experiencing than frustration, perhaps its’ depression. Depression is completely a clinical term. It has a clear-cut definition in clinical studies besides psychology. According to medicine and psychiatry, depression is characterized by severe disappointment and despondency with mental guiltiness and inadequate appetite and sleep.

Well, I think we all have heard more or less about depression. But it is almost out of our subconscious sight that a person having some regular disorders may suffer from depression. I am alluding to some disorders and facts here, which are related to depressive disorder.

1. Sleep disorder

There is a very strong relationship between depression and sleep. Most of the depressed patients may have this one. Statistics say patients of almost three-quarters have insomnia. 40% of young and adults with 10% of hypersomnia. Severe changes in sleep or various sleep disorders sometimes cause specific alterations in brain functions.

Sleep apnea is also a factor. It leads to further hypersomnia as well. This sleeping disorder can cause serious problems like heart diseases and high blood pressure. Though it runs with age.

Sleep impacts the quality of life. Symptoms with sleep disturbance may stay even after the proper treatment. Even, this is an immense risk factor for suicidal attempts.

2. Eating disorder

Though eating disorders have no exact cause, depression is much more related to this one. You will find almost every depressed person with a type of eating disorder. As usual, it seems normal. Because a person is having trouble with sleep, he or she must have trouble with the proper digestion of food.

Eating disorder is most common in girls and women. Young adolescents may also suffer, as depression disorder is common during pubescence. Even eating disorders can lead people to depression. It is found that people, who have binge eating disorders, may have depression further. As they suffer from obesity.

3. Inferiority Complex

This term is highly common even in this exclusive century, but it shouldn’t. The American Psychological Association (APA) defines the term clearly. Inferiority complex is such a feeling of lack of confidence in what a person has or in other words, a feeling of insecurity with imagined or actual human being deficiencies.

According to my perspective, this one is the most aggressive disorder to make distorted a person with depression.

I suggest you be kind to that person, try to make them feel no one is perfect in this perishable world. We are all one warrior from our place.

4. Anxiety and anger

Well, though the words are dissimilar to each other, I have kept them at a point.

Anxiety is such a feeling that is similar to everyone, but temper has a variation. Anxiety sometimes is related to other physical conditions like hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism, cardiovascular problems, and so on.

Anger is an uncontrollable behavior for almost everyone. But in the case of a depressed person, anger occurs frequently and for no reason. This is a fact that a patient can be detected by the way you are watching him or her behave.

5. Thinking disorder

At the very first of this writing, I have tuned a name Anna who is suffering often in this factor. But that is not a big deal. If you come to know about depressed persons even can go schizophrenic, you would be astonished.

They may suffer from illusion. Illusion has many of its’ types.

Anna is having scattered thoughts, it seems normal but it can lead to psychological problems in no time.

6. Other Physical disorders

As hormonal regulations run differently during the depression, many physical problems may peek out. Fatigue and frequent headache are common issues in case of that. The patient may have a very low energy level to do day-to-day life.

The study says psychological pain gives the same amount of ache as physical pain. It is brutal true for a depressed patient.

As a result, they suffer from further neurological disorders even for their lifetime.

We know we have such people around us as 3 out of 100 people are suffering from depression all over the world. We should keep those facts in mind when we deal with them. As well as to suggest they meet a doctor or therapist for their sake.

Life is short. So humanity should stay until the world exists.
